I disagree with the first response as Pontiacs are as reliable as most. More in some cases.

To your question, I would definitely go for 26K. You have the most leverage now in the negotiation stages than once you sign. Everyone who owns one is quite happy. It is a good mix of economy and performance in a great sporty body. I am considering one myself.

If this dealer is not willing to budge then find another. Online search can help you argue purchase prices as well.
