Are there any religions whose name the members of said religion is not permitted to mention to outsiders?
My friend told me he practices special martial arts within his religion. I than asked him what the name of his religion was and he said, in a very serious tone, I bullshit you not, that he was not permitted to tell me. So now I am curious if anyone know of any secret societies/religions/cults where they train the members in martial arts, and forbid them to tell anybody about the name of the religion.

Of course they are, and to be honest, this is not a new thing. Asian culture has always blended martial arts with religion, usually involving the worship of animals; praying mantis and monkey styles are just a few examples. And no, these fighting arts were not common knowledge at the time of their use. Secret societies are prevelant now, and organizations with inner circles are common now, like with Freemasons, the Triad and other organized crime, government, religious cults and the like. However, I'm doubtful if your friend is in anything serious, otherwise, this question never would have made it to Yahoo! Answers. They take this kind of thing seriously.
