Heathens what to do with this axe of Ukko pendant?
a man at the local bar gifted me with an axe of Ukko pendant and it is very nice I in return gave him an Irminsul pendant of mine. but as much as I like they way it looks and am grateful for the gift but I do not Worship or fallow the sky god Ukko so I would not want to wear it and offend those who do yet I do not wish to leave it lying in with my other pendant because it was a gift. any advice?
To be honest there is so little difference between Ukonvasara and Mjollnir that I do not see a problem. I am sure many people (including Heathens and followers of Suomenusko) could easily mistake the two at a glance. If the pendant is a tursaansydan then that's a bit different however it is still basically a fylfot so again it is fine to wear it.
When Thorolf, son of Kveld-Ulf, son of Bjalfi, was in the service of King Harald and travelled through Finnmark with the Sami and helped the Kven people in their fight with the Karelians is it not possible that amongst the spoils granted to him by king Faravid there would have been Finnish talismanic jewellery including Ukonvasara and the tursaansydan. As prizes or gifts then it is likely that Thorolf and his men would have worn them.
Why Birthstone Pendants Are Good Gifts

We all find ourselves in situations when we do not know what to give to a person to express our feeling for him or her. In some cases there are standard conventions of expressing emotions. For example, people exchange diamond rings when they get engaged.
However, in some cases it is very difficult to find the right gift. In such cases you may opt for birthstone pendants because they will make your loved person feel that you have really chosen a gift that is meant just for him or her instead of picking up a run-of-the-mill gift. Moreover, giving a birthstone pendant will also convince the person that you are indeed concerned about his or her wellbeing.
Here is the list of birthstones with their corresponding months:
Garnet - January
These stones are usually red and look amazing when set in gold. They help people to overcome problems like depression and liver disease.
Amethyst – February
Since these stones are generally mauve, lilac, or purple; they are quite striking to look at. Often they are set in sterling silver. They are said to make wearers more sincere.
Diamond -April
Usually transparent or slightly tinged, these stones are famous for their scintillating flashes. Often referred to as a woman's best friend, diamonds are associated with strength and romance. Platinum or gold go very well with diamonds.
Emerald – May
Fiery green emeralds have been linked to healing and health for ages. Emerald means 'hope'.
Pearl – June
People say that pearls are tears of the gods. Few women can resist the appeal of a flawless pearl. These are not too expensive either.
Ruby – July
These coveted gems are bright red in color. Some varieties are pink or purple too and are ideal as birthstone pendants.
Peridot – August
Popularly used in chunky jewelry, these gems are lime-green in color.
Sapphire – September
Available in green, blue, and yellow, sapphires are said to induce faith and purity. The meaning of the word sapphire is wisdom. This makes it a great way to compliment your loved one.
Opal – October
These black and white gems symbolize innocence, purity, hope, and healing.
Topaz – November
The significance of these gems is that they stand for fidelity. Since red, blue, and pink varieties of the stones are available, they are quite popular.
Turquoise – December
Often called the 'stone of the gods', these gems look great when they are set in gold or silver.
An easy way to get Birthstone Pendants is to purchase them through the internet.
